The setup
Any time you expose a face-down card in a tableau column, that card is automatically turned face-up for you. Cards on the foundations need to be stacked by the same suit from Ace to King. Cards on the tableau need to be stacked by alternating color from high rank (King) to low rank (Ace). CardGames.io is a game site focused on classic card and board games. Our goal is to make great versions of the games you already know and love in real life. SolitaireCG includes the following card games: Forty Thieves; Freecell - build by alternate color. Baker's Game - build by suit; Golf - no build on king, wrap cards; Klondike (regular solitaire) - unlimited passes through deck, deal 3 or 1 card. Vegas Solitaire - one pass through deck, deal 1 or 3 cards Spider - four suits. Tarantula - two suits.
The table consists of four 13-slot horizontal rows. Each slot can hold a single card. Deal a 52 card deck and place one card in each slot. Remove the aces, leaving four empty slots on the table and 48 cards in play.
The objective
To win Addiction you must move the 48 cards to their correct location, so that each of the four rows has all 12 cards of a single suit with the two of the suit in the leftmost slot, the three of the suit in the slot to its right, and so on and so forth with the rightmost slot being empty. It does not matter which row holds which suit, only that the cards in that row are well ordered and all of the same suit.
Allowed moves
- Move one card to a valid empty slot. Cards can be placed in empty slots if and only if the card in the slot to the left of the empty slot is of the same suit and has a rank one lower than the card being moved. For example a six of diamonds can be placed in an empty slot if the card to the left of that slot is the five of diamonds. Two's of a suit can only be moved to an empty slot if it is the leftmost slot of the row. As a result no cards can be placed in a slot whose left neighbour is either a king or itself empty.
- Shuffle. You are allowed to shuffle the cards on the table three times in a single game. When you shuffle all cards who are not in their correct location will be moved to a random slot on the board. Because cards who are already correctly placed will not move you can not directly lose progress by shuffling the board, but you might find yourself in a better position to proceed.
Cards are considered to be in the correct position if they are either:- a two in the leftmost position of their row
- of the same suit as the card to their imminent left, one rank higher, and that card is itself correctly placed.
Time and Moves
The game counts the moves you make, and measures the time it takes to finish the game, so you can compete against your previous best games.

Freecell is a beginner friendly card game. It can be a great card game for those who want to get used to cards and the suits.
To understand freecell solitaire rules, we must understand the structure of the game design layout and the table.
The game is played using a standard 52-card deck.
Freecell Game Layout
There are three different sections (piles) in Freecell io.
- Four Open Cells: These are kept empty. You can use these free cells to place cards during the game. Each free cell can hold one single card at a time.
- Four Open Foundations: These are also kept empty. Foundations are the cells that have suit color in them. The foundation piles follow suit– which means you can only place cards of the same suit.
- The Tableau: This is the playground for freecell solitaire. Tableau has 8 cells. The 52 cards are laid down in the tableau to start the game play.
Tableau and Game Setup
Cards are dealt face-up into the eight cascades. Each tableau pile is given a number from 1-8.
Free Classic Card Games
The first 4 cells have 7 cards each. The remaining cells (numbered 5-8) have 6 cards each.
Last Solitaire Game I Played
The cards in the tableau must be placed by alternating suits. The two adjacent cards in the tableaux cannot be of the same color.
Once the tableau is set up, the player can move the topmost card of any cascade to any other cells– following the “Allowed Moves” rules.
